Krishnan S. Chittur, the Founder and Principal of the firm, has about 30 years of experience in civil litigation, including trials and appeals. He is a graduate of Harvard Law School and was admitted to the bar in Mumbai, India, in several jurisdictions in the United States, and in the U.S. Supreme Court . Prior to founding Chittur and Associates, P.C., he was formerly associated with nationally renowned litigation firms. He has litigated before federal and state courts, conducted trials with and without juries, and briefed and argued several appeals.

Mr. Chittur is also an arbitrator with the FINRA (Financial Industry Regulatory Authority), the largest non-governmental regulator for all securities firms doing business in the United States. He has arbitrated, and been the chairperson of arbitration panels, in several disputes between stockbrokers and customers, and between different broker dealers.

Mr. Chittur has extensive international litigation experience, having litigated in India and the United States. His practice is now focused on litigation and trial involving consumer protection, religious organization disputes, and civil commercial disputes before State and Federal courts, mainly in New York, and arbitrations before JAMs and other arbitration organizations.

Well-known for effective litigation strategy and unyielding tenacity in fighting for his clients, Mr. Chittur has come in for specific praise repeatedly for his work in civil commercial litigation by judges, including Judge John S. Martin, Jr., of United States District Court (S.D.N.Y.) ("untiring efforts"); Justice Stephen Crane of the New York Supreme Court, New York County, ("zealous representation"), Justice Cahn, also of the New York Supreme Court, New York County ("unusually literate," "achieved very substantial results"), and Justice Austin of the New York Supreme Court, Nassau County ("“Mr. Chittur has been nothing short of tenacious on behalf of his client . . . it is, in fact, noted that his efforts were herculean and difficult ... which his client should note and should be appreciative of”).
